Admob vs iAd
Admob vs iAd
Admob, founded in 2006 by Google, and is one fo the world's largest mobile display ad technology providers which serves mobile banner and text ads every month. And it mainly targets mobile web sites and handset application.
iAd, in April 8 2010, apple launched an advertising platform for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Its part of the iPhone OS4.0 and is with similar services like Admob and will integrate advertisements into applications sold on the Apple store.
There are times that 2 company are happy with themselves, and the launch of Android initiated a tension between them. The smartphone form Google with Android create a hit for iPhone, the 2 companies then start competing with each other, from iPad to tablet PC, and now the advertising part.
The war has just started and time will tell...

Apple iAd
Apple recently launched their latest iphone 4 with new os IOS 4. Apple has also launched a new "mobile marketing platform" -- iAd.
We can find limited information about iAd in Apple home page. But with the press release they send, we can see some hints
Apple's press release reads: "iAd, Apple’s new mobile advertising platform, combines the emotion of TV ads with the interactivity of web ads. Today, when users click on mobile ads they are almost always taken out of their app to a web browser, which loads the advertiser's webpage. Users must then navigate back to their app, and it is often difficult or impossible to return to exactly where they left. iAd solves this problem by displaying full-screen video and interactive ad content without ever leaving the app, and letting users return to their app anytime they choose."

Apple wants their ads to be with more emotion & interaction.
Sounds difficult to understand... just spend 10mins, and talk a look at the presentation by Steve Jobs, then you can know more.
